About Me

I am a grandmother of Six-two have been added since I started my blog-wonderful grandchildren and a mother of two adult children, I say adult, but they will always be my babies. And a wonderful, creative Step-Daughter. I have a wonderful husband who supports me in my dreams and aspirations of being a writer and pretty much anything that I want to do with my life. I am very fortunate in that regards. I am also a sister to a younger sister, an older brother and a younger brother who all live on the upper East Coast. A place that I miss quite often.

I am hoping to accomplish more than a couple of things by writing my blogs. I hope to raise awareness of social issues. I hope to increase my writing ability and my creativity. I want to meet new people and experience new places and cultures. Essentially living vicariously through their stories. Sounds kind of stalkerish (my own take on the word) and creepy, but when you can’t afford to travel, you have to make due. In the last half or quarter or how ever long, of my life I want to leave something good for my grandchildren. I want to make the world a better place. I hope I can bring comfort and light to someone who is in darkness. I want to see new paths and help others to see new paths that will enlighten and enrich their lives. I have no blinders on. I know I am no great speaker or savior or anyone of huge importance other than being a human being who wishes to share in and experience life.

I love to garden and take walks. I love photography, though the only camera I will be using is the one on my phone. But, I have captured some really neat pictures with my phone. I have a picture in my mind that I dream about and think about all the time. I hope someday to get it onto canvas or into a picture of some sort, even if it is written with “just” words. I believe, however, that there is magic in words. The title of Word Smith comes to mind. I would like to be a Word Smith. Someone who can forge various words into shapes and sounds and pictures. Words that can cast a spell and take a person on a journey of imagination or open their eyes to new possibilities in the world in which they live. That would be…fantastic.

  1. Thanks for the follow! I just looked around your blog and enjoyed reading some of your posts. Connecting and sharing is what it’s all about so I am glad that you found me.

      1. What a small world. I am traveling to Boston tomorrow, and live right on the line to CT. I’ll send them some good energy vibes!

  2. Welcome to WordPress and this amazing community! I take most of my photos with my phone too and it’s not always the camera but the eye and the person taking the image, I have been told by photographers 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Blessings, Oliana

  3. Hey Pavanneh…thanks for your feedback on my blog. I like yours, find it to be honest and full of hope. What’s the name of the other blog that you run? DocUp? tried to find it, but no luck so far.

    1. Sorry I missed this comment. My other blog is “volunteering with DocUp”. I have not been there is awhile and I need to get back to it. Thanks for the great comment.

  4. Hi there! Thanks for liking my posts during this blogging 101 course and for your many thoughtful comments. I will be back to visit your blog more often, as Meredith says, when the zerotohero challenge is over.

I wrote a roundup post of my community of bloggers and included your blog link as your writing inspires me. 🙂
    Cheers!

  5. Thank you Meredith. I hope I continue to inspire you and others. And myself. 😀 I have truly enjoyed reading your posts and looking at your photographs. They are beautiful. I look forward to following you and reading more.

  6. Congrats on completing Blogging 101 with me and the rest of the Class of 2014! What an amazing journey we have all been on! I look forward to read more on your blog!

  7. Dear Because, I enjoyed your post and wish you much success in your mission to contribute to the quality of life of others and yourself, and, of course, one is inextricably connected to the other. We are all in this together.

  8. Your vision is inspiring. My husband and I ask each other whether we are losing sight of our ideals when we get caught up in the day to day of paying bills, but I appreciate your message, and enthusiasm, which are strong and passionate. Put a smile on my face today 🙂

  9. Hello newest Spikey! I know, a bit corny, eh, but that’s the term that has come to stick for those folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂
Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.
My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it, thrown in for good measure.
My promise to you is not to be overbearing, just a couple of posts a day, maybe 3 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.
Thanks again and hope you have a great day…

    1. Thanks Kristan for thinking of me. I am trying to get myself back into a good place for posting. I have 1000 emails lol. I feel a little overwhelmed.I am going to check out your blog and see how you are doing. Thanks again. Lots of love and hugs back. 😀 Pavanne

      1. I am so glad to hear you are doing well. Try not to get too overwhelmed. You are only one person. Your friends and followers will recognize that. We would rather have you sane and ignoring emails than going crazy trying to answer them all.

What crazy timing that I sat down to the computer the instant you responded to my comment. I love when things work out like that. 🙂

  10. I have nominated you for an award. It’s called The Very Inspiring Blogger Award. You can find details here: http://triumphantwings.wordpress.com/2014/06/01/very-inspiring-blogger-award/. I am really glad we have crossed paths and I hope you chose to accept and take part in this, it is well deserved! Just so you know, even your blog title has been a huge inspiration to me. There are moments throughout my day I catch myself pep talking myself since I have met you, and I often catching myself saying… Because I can. Thank you. 🙂

    1. Thank you Nicole for the nomination. You are doing so awesome yourself. I do the same thing during the day when I am feeling down. I try to remind myself that “I can…because I can. ” 😀

  11. I could only stop by a moment, but I liked what I saw…your writing is very insightful and honest. I’m clicking the follow button so I’ll be back. 🙂

  12. I’m writing to let you know that I have nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. I think your blog is very worthy of that recognition.

I don’t know if you know about nominations/awards, etc. but it’s a way for bloggers to show their appreciation for other bloggers. It is also a way for other people to find out about your blog, and the blogs of people you may choose to nominate.

You can get more information about your nomination and the Very Amazing Blogger Award process at http://livinglearningandlettinggo.wordpress.com/2014/06/02/thanks-for-the-very-inspiring-blogger-award/.

  15. A very lovely aspiration, I must say. I am happy that you are able to cultivate the creative spirit in you. 😀

      1. Thank you, Pavanneh. It’s an eclectic mix of almost everything I think of. It’s a little harder when it’s about books and movies because I generally do not pay attention to the details but rather on the overall flow of the story and the impression it leaves me. 😀

    1. I can’t believe I never responded to this. I really need to do much better at checking this page as sometimes I miss the emails telling me I have had a response or comment on my blog. Thank you so much for the nomination. I will be checking your blog soon.

    1. Thank you. I hope to be blogging on a regular basis again soon. Most likely the end of January once my last class ends. I am making a list of articles and topics that I want to talk about hope you will enjoy reading them. Will check out your blog again soon too. 😀
